FUNDING GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

The following grant opportunities are currently open for application or will be forthcoming in the short term. These links are provided to give a general "heads up" to local go getters who wish to get on with the job.

Business Grants Listing
Recent listing of grant programs available that may be of assistance to local businesses. This is provided courtesy of an email newsletter from the South West Area Consultative Committee. Lst with SWACC to regularly receive these updates.

Community Arts Network WA
Community Arts Network funding is for projects that are for Western Australian communities; provide opportunities for communities to work together to plan and develop arts projects; promote community participation in arts and culture; express communities' collective identity; communicate across cultures; integrate arts and culture into everyday life; have longer term spin offs. A range of funding programs are available.

FRRR Small Grants for Small Rural Communities Program
Small grants program ran by the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal offering about $300,000 a year in grants to benefit rural and remote communities. Applications close 30th September 2006.

FRRR/AFL Foundation Small Rural Grants
Is a small grants program for communities of less than 5000 to benefit sporting and community groups in rural and remote communities. Applications close 31 July 2006.

FRRR Caring for Ageing in Rural Australia
Grants of up to $10,000 are available for wothwhile projects that support the ageing in rural and regional Australia. Applications close 9th August 2006.

Lotterywest Social Research Programs
Grants are designed to support social research projects that investigate social issues impacting on the wellbeing of the Western Australia community.Closing date for applications is August 7th 2006

Community Events And Celebrations
Aims to help communities celebrate significant occasions and encourage cultural diversity. Lotterywest supports celebrations that aim to bring communities together, such as a regional or local community festival, special event for a specific community or commemoration of a significant date. It is generally required that your event is free to attend and that it caters to a diverse range of community members. Contact Lotterywest as this program largely operates all year round.
